Unrequited Love

Unrequited Love

Do you know how it feels, to plunge into an abyss believing that love will save you; catch you right before you hit the ground; save you from annihilation?

You jump with ecstasy of anticipation of being saved, wrapped in those arms – protected. You build to this anticipation, you nurture it, grow it, feed it – Knowing that you have worked hard to deserve this; you fall with a grand expectation.

You fall; you keep falling – facing an unknown darkness, and yet you have faith.

You trust in the power of love.

Your love.

You close your eyes, heart pounding, reaching out for that ecstatic moment, which you believe is waiting for you.

You believe.

Until you hit the ground.

Broken, yet still breathing.
